Richmond, Virginia
Richmond is my home base, and has a lot more to offer than one might think. Between a riverside skyline, hilltop views, old railroad tracks, and more, there’s plenty to show off in pictures. I look forward to finding new places to take photos, and will continue to add to this gallery.Freiburg, Germany
From 2013 to 2014, Erin and I embarked on the adventure of our lives and moved to Freiburg. This small city in southwestern Germany was home for nearly a year; we worked, played, and lived just outside the city center and steps from the Black Forest. Here are some of my favorite photos from that time.Cinque Terre, Italy
Last August, I had the opportunity to visit Cinque Terre for the first time. For some reason, these tiny villages were never very high on my list of places to travel, despite hearing so much about them (or maybe because of hearing so much about them). But Erin suggested it, so we went, and I’m so glad we did. It is definitely one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been, and since the easy...Côte d’Azur, France
After moving from Germany, but before returning to the US, Erin and I spent a full month in Nice, France. We spent most days either at the beach or exploring the nearby towns along the French Riviera. The water of the Mediterranean is bluer than any natural water I’ve ever seen, and it was sunny almost every day.French Alps
During a 30-day stint in Nice, France, I had the opportunity to take multiple day trips into the French Alps, which were just an hour or so by bus away. While not as renowned or as tall as the Swiss Alps, these mountains can be just as stunning. In the summertime, the relatively lower altitude keeps away snow – it can be quite warm up there!Lauterbrunnen, Switzerland
Simply, the most beautiful place I’ve ever been. A friend once described this place thusly: “Each time you turn a corner you think, ‘No. That is not real.'” And that’s really how it was. Lauterbrunnen sits in a valley of steep cliffs and tall waterfalls, and is surrounded by some of the highest peaks in the Alps. It is a place for adrenaline seekers and loungers alike.About:
Thanks for visiting! I'm Brian, and I'm on a mission to prove that your smartphone is the only camera you need. I have no photography background, and I've never owned an expensive DSLR. I simply enjoy taking the best photos I can with the device I carry with me everywhere - my phone! iPhone photography is only a hobby for me, but as I go, I'll share my stories and photos, along with any tricks I've learned. I hope you'll follow along and be inspired to take better smartphone photos yourself!
